Shreyas pioneered innovation and revolutionized India’s rapidly growing financial services industry as CEO and Promoter of Investment Bank and Institutional Brokerage firm, SSKI and Online Retail Brokerage Sharekhan Group. Sharekhan was India’s leading online brokerage house and one of India’s most recognizable brands. Shreyas’s tenure culminated in 2007, with the sale of SSKI to IDFC Group and sale of Sharekhan Group to Citigroup.
Shreyas was instrumental in fostering a partnership with UK-based Share Brokerage Smith-Newcourt in 1994, in what became one of the first foreign strategic partnerships in liberalized India. Over the next decade, Shreyas led some of India’s most influential deals, private equity investments, and public stock offerings. In the process, Shreyas quickly established SSKI as the dominant financial services player in India. By early 2000, SSKI was the investment bank, financial advisor, and institutional brokerage of choice for, both, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs). Shreyas’s leadership and contribution to the financial services industry have been widely recognized-most notably by AsiaMoney, which named SSKI as India’s Top Institutional Broking Company and Stock Research Company, for three consecutive years during the late 1990s.
Shreyas received his MSc in Plastic Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and MBA with honors from Wagner College, New York.
